Show Future Farmers Buy Pigs, Sheep Several boys of the Milford chapter of the Future Farmers of America have recently purchased good purebred Duroc Jersey gilts, to be used as foundation breeding stock in their projects for the coming com-ing year, according to La Veil Parsons, Par-sons, adviser of the local chapter and agriculture teacher in the high school. These young gilts were purchased purchas-ed from L. W. Hillam of Salt Lake county. While on the trip to Yellowstone Yel-lowstone park made by the boys this summer, Don Elmer bought a fine young boar from R. V. Fisher, wellknown western breeder of Duroc hogs and this boar will be used to sire the foundation stock belonging to the boys. These young men are laying the foundation for a great improvement improve-ment in the quality of breeding and market hogs in Milford and vicinity, with the following boys now owning purebred stock: Don I Elmer, Hal Fisher, Tom Stewart, Marvin Bond, Gael Elmer. Hughes Williams and Austin Williams. A number of the boys have also recently purchased 53 head of old breeding ewes which will be bred now to supply lambs for next summer sum-mer markets. |
