Fil? of thc Milfori News of j I Fifteen years ago this week Between 190 and 200 guests had been present at the Milford Lions club excursion up Beaver canyon to the Telluride po-wed plant. Miss Beth Himstreet was to leave soon for St. Mary's college, Notre Dame, Indiana, where she was to attend school. A party of 12 had motored out to the home of S. iG. Cole. Mr. Cole had been a miner in these parts for many years, and was located lo-cated near the Moscow mine. The evening was spent mostly in listening listen-ing to various selections of the taknted host, who was an elocutionist elocu-tionist and composer. Songs were sung, accompanied by a .guitar. A radio attracted the attention off mang, it being quite a novelty in the mountains. Those present were J Miss Margaret Cates, Miss Lila I Stanley, Miss Bessie Killam, Miss Christy McLeod, Miss Ardath Johnson, Miss LaPriell 'Clements, LaMar Outzen, Walter Weber and Harold Baxter. The Right Reverend Joseph S. Glass, C. M. D. D. L. L. D., had been in Milford and had selected the old Dobscn terrace, on Stoddard Stod-dard street, as a site for the Catholic church. Mrs. William Elmer had entertained enter-tained two bridge clubs. The prize for points for the Saturday club was won by Mrs. George Harris and for honors by Mrs. J. R. Mur-dock, Mur-dock, while Mrs. Charles Newhartj won a salad fork in the Ladies club. j i |
