Show Richfield Plans KowKountyFete j For Next Weekend; i With a program calling for more i than SC0OO in prizes, the Kow Kounty Karnival, sponsored by the j Sevier County Fair association, promises to be the most successful ; and attractive celebration in south-em south-em Utah this year. It will be ! held in Richfield on Thursday,! Friday and Saturday, September 9, 10 and 11. j Arrangements have already beenj completed for the major parts of j the three-day program to include the usual fair exhibits in the mornings, morn-ings, horse races in the afternoon! and a rodeo under the new flood light system in the evenings. To make all parts of the events exceptionally interesting to the public as well as the contestants, Chariton Seegmiller, fair board j president, and D. H. Wrnttenburg, carnival manager, have set up a budget which includes approxi-1 mately ?3000 in prize money for fair exhibits, $1620 for the three days of horse racing, and more than $1500 for the rodeo performers. perform-ers. Besides this, seven specialty entertainment numbers have been signed to perform both during the afternoon and between events of the rodeo program. In preparation for the celebration, celebra-tion, the county fair grounds are being completely renovated. A new grand stand and bleachers have been constructed that will comfortably com-fortably seat 4000 people. The rodeo arena is now being built under the supervision of the Col-born Col-born and Sorenson company which will put on the night shows. The race track has been resurfaced resur-faced and the turns hanked so that horsemen say it is now one of the fastest tracks in the state. Spurs have also been added to the track so that the three-eighths mile and five-eighths mile races can be started on the straightways and ' finished in front of the grandstands. grand-stands.
