Show Mrs. Grover Cuddy and daughter Sarah returned home last Thursday Thurs-day from a visit in Sait Lake. Hal Smurthwait of Salt Lake, brother of Mrs. George Jefferson, is visiting at the Jefferson home. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kirk and son Jack returned home from Salt Lake Tuesday night after spending a few days there. Mrs. D. S. Williams visited in Kanab the first of the week with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Swapp. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Johnson and sons, Keith and Merrill, returned home Saturday from Nephi where they attended a family reunion. Mrs. Floyd Hansen of Richfield came over to Milford Monday for a few days visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Koch. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Hutchins returned re-turned home Friday from a several days visit with Mrs. Hutchins' mother mo-ther in Gunnision, Colorado, and also other places in Colorado. Jack McMullen and his sister, Miss Virginia McMullen, of Long Beach, California, arrived in Mil-ford Mil-ford Friday night for several days visit with their father, A. J. McMullen. Mc-Mullen. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Jei'fers and children, Jay and Vera, last-week end motored to DeMoines, Iowa, where they will visit with Mr. Jef-fers' Jef-fers' folks. While on their trip they will visit other eastern places. The Pierian club met Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. J. D. Johnston. Those present were Mrs. J. R. Murdock sr., Mrs. Vena Wilson, Mrs. Ed Bardsley, Mrs. J. Low, Mrs. 0. C. Koch and Mrs. Lucille Hansen No longer need you discard your silk hose when runs appear. Mrs. Don Skinner and children of Tooele arrived in Milford Men-day Men-day for a visit of a couple of weeks with Mrs. Skinner's mother, Mrs. Freda Outzen. Registration for all Milford high school students will take place Friday, September 2, at the high school, according to E. R. Moody, principal. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wynaught attended the monthly meeting of the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah, held Saturday and Sunday at Monticello. M. H. Pool returned Sunday from Salt Lake City, accompanied by his sister, Mrs. George Addy, and 12-year old son of Bingham, who will visit at the Pool home. Among the Milford women attending at-tending the flower show at South Milford Thursday were Mrs. Rudolph Ru-dolph Nielsen, Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., Mrs. Carl "Rohn, Mrs. J. M. Williams and Mrs. D. S. Williams. Mrs. J. Fife Ogiburn leflt for her home in San Francisco, California, Tuesday, after visiting a few weeks here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R Murdock Mur-dock jr. Mrs. Fred Jefferson, Mrs. J. M. Williams and Mrs. Myron Lewis enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon Saturday with Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr. and daughter Betty at the Murdock home. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Peterson returned the forepart of the week from a vacation trip which took them to various parts of the state. Among1 She mosit enjoyable features was a trip from Escalante to Wayne Wonderland ,by way of Boulder and over the top of the Beaver mountains by way of Big Flat, where they saw a hundred or more buck deer. Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr. entertained enter-tained last Thursday evening for her daughter, Mrs. Fife Oghurn. Girls from Mrs. Ogiburn's former club and other guests enjoyed the evening at bridge. Those present were Mrs. Alice Carlson, Mrs. Earl Stonehocker, Miss Gladys Coleman, Cole-man, Mrs. Leah Richards, Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. George Jefferson, Mrs. Val Yepsen and Mrs. Grover Black. A dinner party was enjoyed by a number of girl friends of Miss Doris Hughes Tuesday night ajt the J. M. Hughes home. The occasion was Miss Doris' birthday. Those present were the Misses Faye Lyman, Sarah Cuddy, Esther Easton, Margaret Hanlon, Virginia Vir-ginia Ryan, Rosalie Smith, Ruth Jones, lone Sedgwick and Rachel Layton. Mrs. A. A. Mclntyre entertained her bridge club Wednesday night at a handkerchief shower for Mrs. Grover Black. Club prizes were received by Mrs. Clarence Grim-shaw Grim-shaw for high points, Mrs. Faye Bradfield for high honors and Mrs. Robs Palmer consolation. Guests prizes were awarded to Mrs. S. W. Johnson for high points and Mrs. George Fernley high honors. Others present were Leah Richards Rich-ards and Mrs. Ralph Cook. Mrs. George Moore and Mrs. Prank Dearman entertained at the Dearman home Tuesday afternoon at a bridge luncheon honoring Mrs. Grover Black. Those enjoying the occasion were Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. George Fernley, Mrs. LaMar Outzen, Mrs. J. C. Smith, Mrs. J. M. Hughes, Mrs. K. B. Coon, Mrs. B. T. Walker, Mrs. Thomas Ger-rard Ger-rard and Mrs. George Rodgers. Mrs. Black received a guest prize, Mrs. Outzen the high score prize. Mrs. M. J. Cazneaa, who very successfully operated the Milford hotel dining room from 1917 t 1918 and since then has ibeen in California, is preparing to open up a high class eating place at the location lo-cation on the east side of Main street where Kay Suyfusa formerly former-ly had his cafe. Her place will he known as Molly's Coffee Shop, and, with all new equipment, much of it electric and the most modern to be had, her ambition to cater to family trade as well as the regular trade should result in a nice business. L. B. Harmon of the vocational rehabilitation division of the state department of education, aecom-panied aecom-panied by Lena Bearden, representing repre-senting a coast system of training train-ing schools teaching silk hose mending, men-ding, were in Milford1 Thursday. Their purpose in coming here was to help Miss lone Sedgwick in getting located here following a course in hose mending which she has been taking in Ogden under the direction of Miss Bearden, who has 'been employed by the state to teach this vocation to Utah girls as a part of the state plan. Miss .Sedgwick will have a desk in the Hughes Style shop as soon as certain cer-tain necessary equipment is available. Mrs. W. A. Mcintosh and son Micheal were Salt Lake visitors over the week-end. ! Mr. and Mrs. Julian Arnold (nee Margaret Munford) were made happy Thursday of last week with the arrival of a beautiful baby girl. But their happiness was ! parently, that that of "Grandpa" parently than that of "grandpa" George Litchfield, popular tonsor-ial tonsor-ial artist. Mrs. George Moore was hostess Wednesday night to her hridge club. In honor of Mrs. George Rodgers, who is leaving soon to make here home in Salt Lake, the club members presented her with a number of beautiful handkerchiefs. handker-chiefs. Those present were Mrs. Myron Lewis, Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., Mrs. J. A. Weston, Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. George Rodgers and Mrs. Frank Dearman. At bridge Mrs. Murdock won high points prize, Mrs. Williams high honors prize and Mrs. Rodgers consolation prize. |
