Show Grade School Notes FIFTH GRADE Our Newspaper Some time ago the members of of our class decided to buy a newspaper. Now every Tuesday we each receive our paper and enjoy en-joy reading the news of the world. Tom Trott is a man who travels all over the world. We especially like to read his articles. Paul Moody. Beware On the side of our room there is a big picture of a badly decayed tooth. The gum has separated from the tooth and made a pocket for fine pieces of food. The enamel is eaten away by decay and an abscess has formed at its roots. Proper care of the teath will prevent this. Ea'rl Haskell. Some one brought us the story of how all the states of the United States got their names. It is very interesting. We will be able to use this information in our history his-tory and geography work. -Mary Jane Kesler. SIXTH GRADE Beginning next year the schools are serving lunches only for the children who pay in cash or produce. pro-duce. The cost is 10c per week per person or if there are three in a family they can eat for 25c. If you bring produce you must make arrangements with Mrs. Davis. All the boys and girls I have talked to enjoy these lunches very much. Glenna Rollins. We are going to get out tomorrow tomor-row (December 21st) for Christmas. Christ-mas. We will be out until the 2nd of January. I wish all our writers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I also hope all the diseases are nearly over by then so the children can come back to school. Chloe Lewis. We have been luarning about other lands and how they celebrate cele-brate Christmas. It seems funny to us. In Holland they don't hang up their stockings, but clean their wooden shoes out and. put a carrot car-rot or something for St. Nick. If they saw how we have Christmas they would probably think our method funny.- Dorothy Nolan. |
