Show Precaution Urged To Prevent Fires The time of the year is here during which the demon fire is constantly on the alert for any I opportunity man might give him to escape and ravage our forest, range, and watershed lands. During Dur-ing past summers he has escaped on various occasions, and has worked rapidly to accomplish his aims of destx-uction before man again could imprison him. However, How-ever, during the past three summers sum-mers his opportunities to escape have been fewer, and his time of freedom has been shorter. As a result, the damage to our natural resources by fire has been less each year. A major reason for this is the fact that Utah's Council of Defense De-fense has sponsored the Utah forest and range fire fighters service, to which all land protection protec-tion and fire control agencies in the state have contributed their time, talent, and means to work together on the job of fire protection. pro-tection. Fire is no respector of land ownership neither has the F & R F F S discriminated between lands' owned by different departments depart-ments and different individuals. We in Utah say thanks to our state defense council for lining up our defenses against forest, range and watershed fires. May we long feel the good effects of the cooperation co-operation secured under the I F&RFFS by the defense council! coun-cil! v |
