Show Mrs. George Jefferson and sons, Richard and Tommy, arrived home last Friday from several days visit in Mesa, Arizona, and in southern California. The first moisture of the fall season came Sunday when a light drizzle of rain fell virtually all day. Though there was no snow fell in the Mineral mountains apparently, ap-parently, there were a few inches in tho:e east of Beaver even as low as the upper Telluride plant. The Big Four Bridge club was entertained at the home of Mrs. B. E. Hutchins Wednesday night. Those present were Mesdames Robert Price, Lloyd Lee, George Moore, Ray Malstrom, J. H. Han-Ion, Han-Ion, Wilson Moore and Grover Cuddy. Mrs. Hanlon received the ' house prize. I Kenneth A. Smith, Union Paci- j fic machinist, returned Wednesday from Fort Crook, Nebraska, where he attended a brief contact school ' of U. S. army reserve officers October 27-29. He was accompanied accom-panied east by his wife, who visited visit-ed with relatives in Iowa and he also visited with home folks in Council Bluffs. Mrs. R. W. Acheson entertained her bridge club Monday night with Mrs. Thorald White receiving first : high score prize, Mrs. D. G. More- head second high score prize and . Mrs. Sam Hickman third high score prize. Others present were Mrs. Thomas Gerrard, Mrs. K. B. Coon, Mrs. Lloyd Kohler and Mrs. B. T. Walker Mrs. George Rogers was called last week to the bedside of her mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Charles Cloward of Pay-son, Pay-son, who passed away Saturday from heart trouble. Mrs. Cloward had visited here several times and , was well known. Mr. Rogers and son Roy left for Payson Tuesday to attend the funeral services for , Mrs. Cloward, which were held Wednesday. The local Parent-Teachers association as-sociation held their regular month-i !y meeting last Friday night with a very good attendance. D. C. ! Heslington was the principal speaker and talked along the line ' of script writing. The program con-! sisted of two songs by boys from Mrs. Bond's class, a song by Ro- ' bert Morris and a solo by L. H. ! Parsons. The third grade was ! awarded the prize for having the j most parents in attendance. j I Mrs. Grover Black entertained at a bridge luncheon at her home Wednesday afternoon. Those present pre-sent were Mesdames Lloyd Kohler, George Moore, La Veil Parsons, A. A. Mclntyre, Laurence Peterson, Kenneth Carroll, Frank Dearman, Floyd Kotter, Sam Hickman, R. ' W. Acheson and B. T. Walker. A ; traveling prize was won by Mrs. j Parsons, while Mrs. Kohler receiv-: ed the high score prize, Mrs. Ache-' j son high cut prize and Mrs. Mcln- ' tyre consolation prize. i |
