Show John Clay, who is employed at! Provo for the summer, spent last ' week-end with home folks and i friends in Milford. ! Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Bingham and small sons, Howard and Gary, are leaving Thursday morning to spent a few days in Salt Lake City and Ogden. 1 j Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Jillson and children, Joan and Bill, of Bur-bank, Bur-bank, California, were Milford visitors for a few days the past week. Mrs. Jillson, a former resident, resi-dent, was entertained at a number num-ber of socials while here. O. F. Hubbell, former Milford druggist and town board president, presi-dent, was here from Caliente this week for a brief visit with friends. Word came to Mrs. Freda Out-zen Out-zen Wednesday of the sudden death in Pasadena of Mrs. Edith Cherrrington, wellknown Utah and California poetess. Death was due to a heart attack. Mrs. E. L. Smith entertained her bridge club last Wednesday evening. After right refreshr ments were served the time was spent by Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. J. H. Weston, Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. Thomas Campbell and Mrs. Nina Burger. Mrs. Williams won the high points prize and Mrs. Smith the ! high honrs prize, while Mrs. Wes-I Wes-I ton received the consolation prize. Word has been received by local! people that Isadore Gillins, son of j Henry Gillins, is in Charleston,! South Carolina, with the marine J corps. Neely and little daughter, Mary Lou, left In?; Saturday for Denver, where i hey will be staying for the next six weeks, engaged with activities connected with the annual Firemen's Fire-men's convention. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gibbs of Long Beach, California, who have been visiting at the home of their daughter, Mrs. W. E. Vance, and family, are leaving Sunday for a visit in Salt Lake City before returning re-turning to the coast. Attorney and Mrs. Leo Epstein Ep-stein of Los Angeles are guests at the home of Attorney and Mrs. Harold Cline, friends of long standing. This is another of some eight or nine summer visits to Milford on the part of the Epsteins, Ep-steins, who are loud in their praises of Utah as a vacatjon spot. W. H. Hendrickson returned Monday from a trip to New York state, in various parts of which he visited relatives, including his 81-year old mother. His daughter, Julia, local high school librarian, who accompanied him east, remained re-mained in New York City to take a six-weeks library course at Columbia Co-lumbia university. Mrs. Floyd Casterline and son Glen recently returned from a two weeks vacation in southern California. Cali-fornia. They visited with Mrs. Casterline's mother, Mrs. H. C. Wilder, at Lompoc, and enjoyed a trip with them to Pismo Beach, also to Santa Barbara. Mrs. E. J. David, a sister living in Sacramento, Sacra-mento, joined them in the visit. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schoo and children returned Tuesday afternoon after-noon from a visit of several days in southern California, where Mr. Schoo has a brother in the contracting con-tracting business. A part of the time was devoted to deep-sea fishing fish-ing and The News can testify to their good luck, having participated participat-ed in the distribution of some very fine sea bass, which were frozen solid as they came fresh from the water and brought thus to Milford. Ray Spykerman, a director of the Prosper Mining company and actively affiliated with mining and milling operations since the company first started to develop their local properties, is being called back into service of the United States navy, in which he served for 12 years.
