Grass and shrr' bery were to be planted and shade trees set out. The park was to be 60 by ISO and inclosed by an iron fence, with a 20 foot driveway around the park. : I Miss Macel Rogers, daughter of! Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rogers, and Al- fred Horton, son of Mrs. Hattie Horton, were married July 3rd, at the Rogers home by Bishop Bird. The bride was a graduate of the Milford high school and had been in charge of the library, while Mr. Horton was employed at the railroad rail-road shops. Marion Kirkham of American ; Fork and Miss Christie MeLeod, daughter, of Mrs. Mabel Matthews, were married July 5 at the parsonage par-sonage by Rev. Root. Mr. Kirkham Kirk-ham was connected with the railroad rail-road and Miss McLcod assisted in the office of Doctors Parrish and Markham. A delegation from Milford was to attend the Utah Epworth League institute, held in the Oquirrh mountains near Tooele. Those in the party were Mrs. G. R. Wilcox, Wil-cox, Miss Eva Coleman, Miss Dorothy Murdock. Miss Helen Ward. William Cochrane, LeRoy VanWormer, Horace Palmer, Wallace Wal-lace Moore and Rev. Homer Root. The Fourth of July had been fittingly observed in Milford. In the afternoon sports for children had been held with the winners in races as follows: 5 and 6 years, Ruth Bradshaw and Gerald 9 Schow; 7 and 8, Lela Bradshaw and Harold Clements; 9 and 10, Adna Bradshaw, Jack Weston and John Fernley; 11 to 12, Erma Hickman and Rayfield Crawford; 13 and 14, Elizabeth Weidner and Harold Palmer; three-legged race, Tom Schow and Frank Carter; sack race, Joe Rogers; all-ages-races for girls, Lila Bradshaw. Mrs. C. E. Moore had entertained entertain-ed the Afternoon Bridge club at Hanging Rock park. The ladies motored to the park where a delightful de-lightful game of bridge was played play-ed in the pavilion. An individual box luncheon was served to Mrs. C. C. Sloan, Mrs. Eva Evans. Mrs. John Wiiliams. Mrs. Jal?k Thies-sen, Thies-sen, Mrs. J. R. Murdock and Mrs. William Fernley. O. A. Steenbock and Frank Kuchenmeister had enjoyed their annual fishing trip to Fish Lake June 28 to July 2. Their catch included in-cluded 30 maridnaw trout, the largest being 30 inches long and weighing 10 pounds. Elam Fouts and daughter, Miss Treva Fouts, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Baxter and Mrs. Vena Wilson had motored to Lehman caves and reported re-ported a very nice time. Bobby Martin, small son of Postmaster and Mrs. C. T. Martin, Mar-tin, had had the misfortune to break a small bone in his foot. The management at Hanging Rock park had announced that any organization wishing to use the dance pavilion on any day except ex-cept dance nights, Wednesday and Saturday, could do so without cost. |
