Show Annual Meeting Set ForFeb. 6th Willis Whitbeck, director of the Beaver County Fish and Game as-j sociation, asks The News to publicise publi-cise the annual meeting of the association, as-sociation, which will be held at. Beaver Sunday, February 6, at 2 also asks us to mention the fact that a bounty of 10c a head is being paid by him for crows that are kilied, these birds being among the most destructive to small game life of all pests. While this bounty paying for crows will no doubt be listed as an association activity, no association funds are being used for this purpose. The money so .to be paid out by Mr. Whitbeck has been contributed specially for this purpose by Milford sportsmen alone. Any unexpended balance will be kept on hand and turned to the purchase of feed for the lb wild turkeys which have been purchased pur-chased by Milford sportsmen an will be liberated in the east hills in a few weeks time. At the present pres-ent time they are being cared foi at the state game farm north of Springville, where their habits are under observation by state officials while also undergoing a sort of acclimatization process. There has been local talk for some time of fcrming a Milforn Fish and Game club, separate from the county organization, but, witu no one taking the lead in the matter mat-ter there has not been much done in the way of crystalizing such sentiment. There could be no harm in trying this plan out for a year. Milford has a large number oi sport-minded people who not only pay their dues to the countv or-ganizartian or-ganizartian but don't hesitate to dig deep into their pvckeis for special purposes as has bee i shown. If a separate organization is to be formed now is the time to do it. Think it over and let's heai I flrom you at to your reaction! |
