Show 30th Anniversary Observed Friday By Masonic Lodge What is declared to have been the outstanding social event in the history of Albert Pike lodge No. 11, K. & A. M., took place Frida evening January 21, when the oOth anniversary of the institution of the local lodge was celebrated by Masons and their partners to the number of about SO. The affair, which consisted of a banquet at 7:15, followed by cards, was held in the Union Pacific dining room, and all preparations for the event were in the hands of a committee consisting of O. C. Koch, 1. Alt-man Alt-man and H. V. Carlson, who did a splendid job of their assignment. .Attorney Harold Cline, a past j master of Albert Pike lodge, officiated of-ficiated as toastmaster and V. M. Burns, incumbent master, gave a welcoming talk, taking occasion to announce a substantial cash' contribution from the local lodge j to the Shriners' hospital for chil- dren. Mrs. F. E. Casterline, matron cf Ruth chapter. O. E. S., also spoke briefly, and Attorney Sam Cline. Albert Pike lodge past master, mas-ter, in the course of the program, gave an historical sketch dealing with the lodge, of whose charter members there are only three now living, one of the number, J. M. Williams, being present as honored guest. The speaker of the evening was Stuart P. Dobbs. prominent Ogden attorney and grand marshal of the grand lodge cf Utah. Other prominent promi-nent guests included William B. Pace, grand standard bearer; William Wil-liam J. Goddard grand lecturer; and Al Cline of Cedar City, past master cf the local lodge and also of Franklin lodge at Cedar City. |
