Show Attorney and Mrs. Sam Cline ;arc spending the week in Salt Lake City, attending sessions of the i Utah State Bar association and auxiliary. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Leech and : children, Patsy and Ward, returned return-ed Wednesday from a holiday visit I of two weeks with relatives and j friends in southern California. Mr. and Mrs. William Cochrane jr. returned to their home in Walnut, Wal-nut, California Friday of last week, after spending the Christmas Christ-mas holidays here with Mr. Coeh-lane's Coeh-lane's parents, Mr. and Mr3. William Wil-liam Cochrane sr. The holidays have been the occasion oc-casion for a great deal of entertaining, enter-taining, far too much for individual indivi-dual mention, but it has been pretty well confined to family and small group affairs and informal visiting, with few large parties. Mrs. M. H. Pool and Mrs. Rudolph Ru-dolph Nielsen utilized New Years eve to entertain the Monday Night Bridge club members and husbands, the party being given at the Pool home. The club prizes were received by Mrs. Nielsen and Mrs. J. M. Williams, while high ! points and high honors prizes were won by Mrs. David S. Williams and Mrs. D. E. Kirk. Gentlemen's high score prize was won by David S. Williams and consolation 'by Mr. Nielsen. i Mr. and Mrs. Orrin R. Williams of South Milford, who recently leased their farm and left for an indefinite visit among relatives, are located for the time being at Standardville, where Mr. Williams has a good-paying position as tipple watchman for Standard Fuel company. Mrs. Williams was home for a few days this week, at-tending at-tending to local business matters, and states that she may take a position in the company hospital at that place. Mr. and Mr-;. K. B. Coon aiu son Ht-rijtrt returned Friday from Compton, California, where they spent Chri.-tmas, their visit there being made additionally enjoyable by reason of a visit from their son Blair, who is in naval service. Members of the Big Four Bridge club were entertained Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Harry Garfield. Those present were Mrs. Lloyd Lee, Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. Vern Shingleton, Mrs. G. C. Cuddy, Mrs. J. P. Holm, Mrs. Fay Eradfield, Mrs. Ronald Banks and Mrs. James E. Moore. The prize for high points was awarded Mrs. Lee and for high honors to Mrs. George Moore, while Mrs. Shingle, ton received the consolation prize. 1 Mrs. W. F. Cottreil writes The ; News from Provo, staling that she : U making her home with her soninlaw and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gray. She recently sold , her cosy little home to Mrs. Gertrude Gert-rude Cook of South Milford. Mrs. Cottreil extends Lest wishes to all1 her local friends. j j Mr. and Mrs. William Baker and j ison Alfred visited four days last iweek in Bakersfield, California, '; with their son Ray and family and 'daughter Helen; also with Mr. Baker's sister, Mrs. E. A. Moyes, nd family. Kay was home for l3 days on a furlough from Gunter : Field, Alabama, leaving Saturday . morning to return to base. j |
