Lewis had been elected town clerk to succeed Mrs. Minnie McKeon.- Mrs. A. J. Atkin had entertained entertain-ed at a beautifully appointed 7 o'clock dinner in honor of five of Milford's school teachers. They were Mrs. Margaret Parker, Mrs. Horace Banks and the Misses Drucilla Tanner, Evelyn Hyde anti Grace Smurthwaite. Mrs. A. E. Smith had entertained entertain-ed in honor of the Hth birthday of her daughter Vernice. Eleven little friends attended the matinee at the Orpheum theatre and after the show went to th Smith home where refreshments were served and games played. Those present were Avonel Newhart, Berniae Outzen, Ellen Ford, Helen Kinney, Stella Hollis, Sarah anti Ruth Pool, Peggy Nichols, Helen Carlson Carl-son and Carol and Venita Smith. Milford was the only city in southern Utah to have a place on a map in a state bulletin of Business Busi-ness and Professional Women's clubs. The Junior-Senior banquet had been held at the Atkin hotel and those present were: Faculty Mr. anti Mrs. Heaton, Mrs. Horace Banks, Mrs. Parker and Mr. Cot-trell; Cot-trell; Seniors Harold Bailey, Gladys Coleman, Frank Carter, LaRue Davis, Jack Hillary, Eva Joest and Mary Vincent; Juniors Jun-iors Alice Schow, Eva Coleman, Roy Carlson, Ardella Stirling, Lu-zene Lu-zene Jennings, Thelma Rogers, Walter Cook, Jack Ahem, Leah Smith, Dern Osborn, Pete Banks, Fva Joest, Eva Bowman, Delia Kirk, and two invited guests, Beryl Young and Fern Hickman. iMr. and Mrs. Horace Palmer and son, Horace jr., had gone to Provo where young Horace was to represent Milford Junior higb school at the sixteenth annual invitation in-vitation track anti field meet, Mrs. David Tanner had entertained enter-tained at a party in honor of the 10th birthday of her daughter Ethel. Those present were Helen Kinney, Henrietta Dennis, Ethel Hearn, Rose Stirling, Thelma Tait, Ranee Fernley, Beth Bailey, Adele Kinney and Luella Bird. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Williams, accompanied by Mrs. Benjamin and Mrs. CorfieW, visiting O. E. S. grand officers; Mrs. Margaret Williams and Mrs. Paul Evans had motored to Frisco and New-house. New-house. !A very delightful birthday surprise sur-prise had been given Hannora Hutchings, when a few of her friends gave a party for her April 24. Pat-terson. The Old Friends crab had met at the home of Mrs. Scott Tanner. Tan-ner. Mrs. Fred Levi and Mrs. Roy White had received the prizes at "500". Others present were Mrs. Bert Hoagiand, Mrs. Karl Levi, Mrs. A, Fotheringham, Mrs. B. Hutchings, Mrs. A. Johnson and Mrs. William Fernley. The Double Four Bridge ehib had been entertained by Mrs, Vernon Ver-non Johnson. Those present were Mrs. Charles Miller, Mrs. L. R. Bowen, Mrs. H. Yeager, Mrs. Myron My-ron Lewis, Mrs. Charles Tullia, Mrs. George Rodgers, Mrs. L. Sheehan and Mrs. Belli ngmo. Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. TuUis won the prizes, The Milford Business Women's club had met at their regular monthly meeting at the AtldB hotel. The following program was enjoyed: Piano duet, Mrs. Ida J. Root and Mrs. Homer Root; vocal solo, Miss Vera McAllister, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Vernon Johnson; current events, Bessie Klllant; musical reading, Miss Louise Levi, accompanied by Mrs. Vernon Johnson. The English coarse had been very capably handled by the new leader, Miss Ardath Johnson. Herbert Nichols was again the newly appointed U. S. commissioner commis-sioner for a four year term. : m |
