Show F. F. A. Chapter To Be Established Formal installation of a Future Farmers of America chapter for Milford will take place at the high school Thursday, April 2, at 8:00 p.m. Those who have been instrumental in bringing this about are very happy and proud to have this distinction for Mil-ford Mil-ford high school, a goal toward which they have been striving for the past five years. The Future Farmers of America Ameri-ca is a national organization of farm boys studying vocational agriculture in the public high schools throughout the United States, the territory of Hawaii and Puerto Rico. It consists of about 4,000 local chapters with a membership of over 100,000 boys. It is an organization designed to recognize and encourage the natural instincts and tendencies to organize into groups, and to put enthusiasm and pleasure into work and recreation. The organization affords an excellent ex-cellent opportunity to teach vocational voca-tional students some of the fundamental funda-mental principals of group leadership. leader-ship. Some of the purposes of this organization are: To develop rural and agricultural leadership; to strengthen the confidence of the farm boy in himself and his work; to create more interest in the choice of farming occupa tions; to create a love for country life; to improve the rural home and its surroundings; to encourage encour-age cooperative effort among students; to promote thrift; to improve scholarship; to advance the cause of vocational education; and to give boys independent practical experience in farm occupations. oc-cupations. Noall, state director of vocational education, and other members of the state board of education will attend and participate in the installation in-stallation ceremonies. A splendid program and lunch is being prepared for the boys taking agriculture and their fathers. |
