Show r 1 i ' ' i ' i ORDINANCE NO. 46. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER III OP THE REVISED ORDINANCES OP THE TOWN OF MILFORD, UTAH, BY! AMENDING SECTION 3 0' THEREOF, BY AMENDING1 SECTION S5 THEREOF, AND BY ADDING NEW! SECTIONS TO B E KNOWN A S SECTIONS 42x1 and 42x2 THEREOF, RE-LATING RE-LATING TO AUTOMOBILES A.ND OTHER VEHICLES AND THE TRAFFIC PERTAINING THERETO. ' HE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF MIL-FORD, MIL-FORD, UTAH: Section 1. That Section 30, Chapter III, Revised Ordinances of the Town of Milford, Utah, 1924, relating- to automobiles and other vehicles and the traffic pertaining per-taining thereto be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: No person shall operate a motor vehicle or motorcycle within the town limits at a speed greater than is reasonable and safe, having due regard for the width, gTade, character, traffic and common use . of such street; or so as to endanger en-danger life, limb and property in any respect whatever, and not more than fifteen miles per hour at and through an intersection and twenty-five miles per hour else, where, in any event. Section 2. That Section 35, of said Chapter III be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows fol-lows : It shall be unlawful for any person to leave, place or park any automobile, carriage, wagon or other vehicle upon the streets of the Town of Milford, or to cause same to be done, excepting as otherwise in the Ordinances of the Town of Milford provided. Parking shall in all eases be to the right hand side of the street and of the direction of approach, and parking shall be parallel with the curb line, with the right hand wheels of the automobile, carriage, wagon or other vehicle not more than eighteen inches from the edge of the curb or gutter, and in no case so as to interfere with, obstruct ob-struct or in any manner encroach upon any street crossings, intersections inter-sections or designated pedestrian lanes, or in front of or within ten feet of .a fire hydrant, fire plug or fire prevention apparatus. Section 3. That said1 Chapter III be and the same is hereby amended by adding in and ,to said Chapter a new Section to be known as Section Sec-tion 42x1, which shall read as follows fol-lows : (a) DOUBLE PARKING. It shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave standing upon any street any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, along the side of any parked vehicle where such vehicle is parked parallel with the curb, or at some angle, except that an operator may stop temporarily, provided he does not leave his vehicle, during the act of actually loading or unloading passengers or when necessary fh obedience to traffic regulations or traffic signs or signals of a police officer. (b) PEDESTRIAN LANE. RIGHT OF WAY TO PEDES -TRL4NS. It shall ibe unlawful for any person as the driver of a vehicle to fail to yield) the right of way, slowing down or stopping if need be to so yield, to a pedestrian crossing the street at an inter. section or within a marked crosswalk cross-walk or pedestrian lane, when the pedestrian is upon the half of the roadway or street upon which the vehicle is traveling, or when the pedestrian is approaching so closely close-ly from the opposite half of the roadway as ito be in danger, but no pedestrian shall suddenly leave a curb or other place of safety and walk or run into the path of a vehicle which is so close that it 5s impossible for the driver to yield. Section 4. That said Chapter III be and the same is hereby amended by adding in and to said Chapter a new Section to be known as Section Sec-tion -12x2, which shall read as folic fol-ic ws : No person in charge of any ve- hide, or having the control thereof, there-of, either as owner or driver, shall knowingly cause or permit such vehicle to remain parked on either side of Main Street in the Town of Milford, between Second Avenue and Sixth Avenue, for a period of more than two hours at any one time, between the hours of eight o'clock A. M. and six o'clock P.M., and for a period of more than four hours between the hours of six o'clock P. M. and eight o'clock A. M of the following morning. Section 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section G. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon the tenth day after its publication.
