Show FIRMAGEJHEATRE Sunday and Monday "Summer Storm," the gripping drama of love and murder which comes to the Firmage theatre Sunday Sun-day and Monday, is reported to be one of the season's most thrilling and revealing pictures of complex human emotions. It is also said to give the stars, Linda Darnell and George Sanders, their most colorful color-ful screen roles to date. Linda, beautiful and sultry, is the grasping grasp-ing woman, unfaithful to husband and lovers, but so fascinating that men willingly wreck their lives for her. Sanders, a rather sturdy character at the start of the story, winds up a despicable craven because be-cause of Jiis association with Linda. Trainers, fighters, bombers in awesome awe-some numbers roar through this 20th Century-Fox film of the great Army Air forces, which comes to the Firmage theatre Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. But "Winged Victory" is not about planes or flying. It's about the men who fly the planes. It's the miracle of m'etamorphasis it's the "how" and "why" carefree, happy-go-lucky American boys emerge as the most perfectly trained, technically techni-cally skilled and efficient flyers in the world. Friday snd Saturday 'Gayest, most exciting of "musical "musi-cal round-ups" is Republic's" Utah", latest starring vehicle for Roy Rogers, which comes to the Firmage Fir-mage theatre Friday and Saturday as one of the pictures of a double feature show. Rogers rides Trigger, Trig-ger, sings and outwits the villains with the breezy charm' that has earned him the title of King of the Cowboys. In addition there is comedy supplied by the ace of Western funny-men, George "Gabby" "Gab-by" Hayes. Dale Evans tops the feminine cast. The wild, roaring action film, "High Powered," which comes to the Firmage theatre as the other picture of the double feature show, packs a strong wallop from beginning begin-ning to end. Dealing with a construction con-struction rigger, played by Robert Lowder, this picture describes how he conquers his fear of high places when a friend's life hangs in the balance. V |
