Show Mrs. 0. R. Smith returned home Sunday after a visit of a week in Salt Lake City. Mrs. J. H. I Mrs. William Gibson visited her sister, Mrs. Beulah Wunderlich, 1 Tuesday, enroute to her home in . Montebello, California, after a I visit with her son, Pfc. Billie Gib-i Gib-i son, in North Carolina. Mrs. Gib-j Gib-j son was accompanied on the trip by Pfc. Gibson's fiance, who also : resides in Montebello. Pratt Root returned last week to his railroad em ployment at Kelso, California, after a visit with local relatives and friends. Mis. Root did not leave until later in order to care for Mr. Hoot's mother, Mrs. liaiiit- Hoot, who was quite ill. Member;; of the Stitchletic club met with Mrs. William Baker last Thursday afternoon. Sewing and visiting was enjoyed by Mrs. Joe Tribole, Mrs. Dave Tanner, Mrs. F. D. Anderson, Mrs. D. N. Hickman, Hick-man, Mrs. Vera Patterson, Mrs. ; lreta Albrecht and an invited guest, Mis. Mattie Wade, of Salt Lake City. Lunch was served at 4 o'clock. Members of the Thursday Night Bridge club were entertained at the home of Mrs. Robert Burger. : Prizes were won by Mrs. Harold Cline, firt; Mrs. Del McDonald, ' second; and Mrs. K. B. Coon, third. Other members and guests present included Mrs. L. F. Kohler, Mrs. Vic Carlson, Mrs. Ben Hillman, Mrs. Frank Berrie, Mrs. E. L. Goodfellow and Mrs. Dora Miller. Mrs. Sam Cline' was hostess Thursday night of last week to members of her bridge club. Those present were Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. Gene Kirk, Mrs. David S. Wiilliams, Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. R. J. Magill, Mrs. J. H. Weston and Mrs. William Cochrane. The high points prize was won by Mrs. Cline and the high honors prize by Mrs. Smith, while Mrs. Kirk received re-ceived the consolation prize. Ned Kohler, small son of Dr. and Mrs. L. F. Kohler, celebrated his fifth birthday Sunday, March 25. The following children helped him celebrate: Darwin Christen-sen, Christen-sen, Paul, Garry and Sandra Whisler, Jimmie Skillicorn, Phillip Hicgman, Vaun McDonald, Skipper Carlson, Lynne Bracken, Rodger and Wilma Aagard, Harriet Cline, Freddie Schlachter, Elmer Barnes, Boyd White and Russell Sly. Mrs. J. M. Hughes entertained memibers of the Monday Night Bridge club at her home this week. Those present were Vlrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. David S. Williams, Mrs. J. C. Smith, Mrs. William Cochrane, Mrs. M. H. Pool, Mrs. George Moore and Mrs. Ezra Lyman. Ly-man. The club prize was won by Mrs. Nielsen, the high points prize by' Mrs. Williams and the high honors prize by Mrs. Hughes, 'while Mrs. Moore received the guest prize. Dr. and Mrs. J. J. "Wier of Glen-dale, Glen-dale, California, former residents of Milford, where the doctor was a practising physican and surgeon a "few years ago, . were visiting local friends the fore part of the week. They were accompanied here by Mrs. Weir's sister, Mrs. 0. S. Parratt of Pasadena, and Dr. 0. W. Truman of Glendale. Dr. Truman is medical superintendent of Glendale sanatorium, on the staff of which Dr. Weir is the eye. ear, nose and throat specialist. The latter, looking extremely well and fit and back in California for the past two years, was located locat-ed in South Carolina for a period of time. Still retaining a lively interest in the Milford valley, he will be kept informed of local happenings through a subscription to The News. v |
