Show GRUB CONTROL WORK PAYS OFF Cattle grub control work done last year has proven very effective, according to Hyrum Steffen, Beav-; Beav-; er County Agent. Recently a large J number of dairymen who partici-! partici-! pated in the control campaign have ! been contacted. Practically every one of them reports a greatly reduced re-duced infestation this year. In contrast, cattle in untreated herds ' or areas show as much or more infestation than last year. Appproximately 1600 head of dairy and beef cattle were treated in the county last year. Over 100 cattle owners participated and used 7175 pounds of powder. ' Stockmen are again urged to treat infected animals this year. Insecticide dealers at Beaver and Milford have materials on hand for the purpose. Treatment is simple sim-ple and inexpensive, and will add immensely to the health, comfort and production of the animals. At least two and possibly three treatments will be necessary, according ac-cording to Mr. Steffen. The first treatments should be given now and the other one or two, as the case may be, at 30-day intervals. |
