Show Evangelists Give Interesting Talks With another stirring lecture entitled "The Mark of the Beast, What Is It?" Evangelist Norman C. Eckman spoke to a keenly interested in-terested audience last Sunday night in the Milford Firemen's hall. The program of the evening was marked with a number of unusual features. First there was a lively song service of old wellknown hymns, led by Mr. Caleb Davidian. The illustrated lecture on the Life of Christ was then given, with a most beautiful and uplifting selection selec-tion of colored slides. Then, before be-fore the lecture, .Mr. Davidian sang the lovely song, "The Ninety and Nine," which was illustrated upon the screen with colored pictures pic-tures made by world-famous artists. art-ists. Mr. Eckman launched out in his lecture of the evening by saying, "A mark or a seal must include the name of the ruler, his dominion, domin-ion, and his position." In tracing these three points through the Seal of God, which is the opposing seal or mark to the mark of the Beast, Mr. Eckman proved that in the fourth commandment is found this seal. "This commandment," he said, includes the name, 'Lord thy God'; the dominion, 'heaven and earth'; and position, 'Creator.' " Substantiating this argument with many other verses, the speaker speak-er also undertook to prove that this fourth commandment was the only one which included the three positive points of any legal document. docu-ment. "Therefore," he added, "the fourth commandment is the Seal of God." Following out this same line of logical reasoninng regarding the Mark of the Beast, the speaker proved from Revelation 13 that the beast is the papacy. This he proved very conclusively from the last verse in the chapter, which gives positive proof in numbers. The audience assisted in determining determin-ing the value of each letter given on the blackboard regarding the "number of the beast," which is "six hundred sixtj-six." The mark of the beast," continued the speaker, "is that power, or exercise exer-cise of power, which iin this case cise of power, which in this case is the change of God's holy law, which this power claims to have made and which the Bible predicts pre-dicts they would make. This change was from Saturday to Sunday; therefore, Sunday-keeping is the 'mark of the beast.' " Mr. Eckman will speak again Sunday evening at the Firemen's hall, with a special Sabbath sermon ser-mon to be given Saturday, November Novem-ber 30, at 11 o'ejock, entitled, "The Thankful Christian." Lectures Lec-tures at the South Milford Community Com-munity Club house will be held Tuesday and Friday nights of next week. ' |
