SECOND GRADE Language stories composed by the second grade as a group: We are going to Mr. Fisher's farm Tuesday. We will see the animals. We will see the chickens and turkeys. We will see the farm house. . We will see the farmer, too. This is the farmer. ' The farmer works in his garden. He works in the field, j He plants his crops. I He harvests his chops. He milks cows. He has many kinds of animals. Here is the farmers wife. She keeps the house clean. ! She feeds the chickens, i She cares for the milk. She churns the cream to make bv.fter. She cooks food for the farm ; workers. Sle is a good helper. THIRD GRADE j . Friday we wrote a letter to the Western Air Express to thank them for the beautiful pictures that they sent us. They were very pretty and shiney and we were glad to get them. Ruth Bond. Our post office is all built. We bought stamps and envelopes and we wrote letters and sent air mail letters. Gordon Bently. i We finished our post office to- I day and we played in it. We had five mail men, one for each row. j I received five letters . and sent three. Patricia Smith. The China Clipper is going over the Pacific ocean on Friday, November No-vember 22. It is going to carry passengers and mail. Anna Mae Grimshaw. We finished our post office. We worked in it today. Jack Stahl was the po.-tman. He sold us stamps, envelopes and special delivery de-livery stamps. It was a lot of fun. I sent Patsy a letter and Vernon one too. Phylis Lyman. FOURTH GRADE Once there was an acrobat. And do you know what he was? He was just a tiny little cat. That is what he was The wonderful acrobat. No one thought he was an acrobat They just thought he was a common com-mon cat. Dean English. When the Pilgrims harvested their first crops they . were so happy that they decided to give thanks to God and all He had done for them during the summer. That is the reason we will celebrate the 28th of November. Lane Frazier. We have been studying the history his-tory of the Horn Silver mine. We would find stories of some mines or have our parents tell iis about the mine, then we would report it to the class. That would give the class some information to write our stories we would read them to j our stor.es we would read them to the class. Most of us have them finished and have started on pictures pic-tures about the mine. Some of the people have pictures about how they go down in the mine, others how it looks in the mine. After they finish their picture they write a story about it. Genevieve English. FIFTH GRADE The fifth grade is studying fractions. To add fractions, we add the numerators and write the result over the denomin&tr- Then we reduce them to lowest terms. They are a lot of fun. Junior Eyre. Friday the 15th we" had our pictures taken. Every one in each grade had his taken. I hope the man will come often. I like to have my picture taken. Eddie Yepsen. In our school we are studying about the Louisiana Purchase. We have the room divided into five groups which we call committees. Our committee is making a frieze for activity. We are tracing the Lewis and Clark expedition. Our I frieze is getting bigger and is j getting to look more like their expedition. ex-pedition. Ruth Gressmen. SIXTH GUADE- In our school we have some new books for the different classes. The books are very fine. I have already read three stories in one book. They were about Indians and I liked them very much. Frank Holm. Today a man came to our school and took pictures of the pupils. He was in Beaver and Minersville yesterday. He takes the pictures, develops them and sends them to us for approval. They cost 15c each, but are cheaper i we buy them by the half dozen. Du-Wayne Du-Wayne Williams. Some of the children in our school are found to have ringworms. ring-worms. ' We children should try to avoid getting this as ringworms are very painful on being treated. We are glad to have Mrs. Williams Wil-liams here to take care of them and treat them properly. Kathleen Kath-leen Fotheringham. A group of boys of the sixth grade have been playing soccer with a volly ball. The object of the game is not to touch the ball with your. hand.
