Show Sportsmen Are Soon To Enjoy Varied Shooting The duck season in Utah will open Saturday, October 15, at 7 a.m. and close November 28 at 4 p.m. The shooting each day will be confined between the hours of 7 in the morning and 4 in the i afternoon. j The limit for each day is 10 j ducks and the possession limit is 20. A daily limit can contain but three in the aggregate of the f ol-' f owing species: Canvasback, redhead, red-head, buffle-head and ruddy duck.1 Geese are limited to five per day,1 with a possession limit of 10.1 Wilson's snipe and jacksnipes are1 limited to 15 per day. j Shooting of ducks with any calibre rifle is prohibited. The use of a power boat, a sail boat or sink box is prohibited. It is alsoj against the law to stir ducks up' for other hunters with any type of ; boat. No person under 16 years of i age is permitted to hunt ducks, and every hunter must purchase a duck 1 stamp at the postoffice and affix it to his license and WTite his signature sig-nature across the face of the stamp. With pheasants more plentiful this year than ever before, seven counties of the state, Millard, Sevier, Carbon, Emery, Duchesne, Uintah and Utah, will have a six-day six-day open season, November 6-11, inclusive. Washington county is given five days, Beaver county three days and Iron county two days. Shooting will be allowed between seven in the morning and six in the evening. The daily ;bag ',is three cocks per day, with a posses-' sion limit of six birds, or twoi day's legal kill. It is against the law for anyone I to use any calibre rifle or pistol ! for hunting pheasants. The deer season, as usual, opens' Thursday, October 20 and closes October 30. Despite the protests of sportsmen from all over the' state, 4500 doe deer permits at1 $3 each are to be issued in the I state, with 500 of the number to. be issued for the Beaver moun-! , tain district. The major part ofj these (300) will be sold at the City creek checking station on the I east side of the mountain, and 200 ' at the Beaver station. These doe, permits will be issued only to hunters over 20 years of age.' These permits, though on sale j throughout the season will not be good until October 24, four days after the regular sieason jppens, and continue to and including, I October 30. j |
