Show C.C.C. BOYS STAGE FINEPROGRAM Last night was C. C. C. night in Milford with 65 young men from the desert range camp furnishing a very fine program in the high school auditorium. audi-torium. The affair was the second of a series of exchange programs to be furnished by Milford ae a community com-munity and the camp boys, the preceding pre-ceding program having been given at the west camp by local talent. Last nights program was a com-nendable com-nendable one, consisting of chorus work and individual musical numbers under the'direction of Louis Carper, talented Virginia musician, with Fred Mascon of Tooele, Utah, acting aJ master of ceremonies and acquitting himself of this important position in admirable manner. Miss Helen Kin ney acted as pianist for the chorus numbers while Mr. Carper acter as accompanist for the other numbers. The program included some very good numbers by the chorus; selections selec-tions by the Post Holers sextet,con-sisting sextet,con-sisting of violin, banjo, guitar and harmonicas, finished off with tap-dancing tap-dancing by Wayne Sehelken, one of the members of the "orchestra"; vocal vo-cal solos by O. K. Day, brilliant young vocalist from Fillmore; violin solos by Russell Gilbert; vocal solos by Ralph Johnson, accompanying himself on the banjo; sleight-of-hand act by Albert C. Gregerson; three-round three-round boxing exhibition by Pete Pow-les Pow-les and Louis Grandstaff with shadow boxing by Powles. The program was thoroughly enjoyed en-joyed by a huge crowd which packed the large auditorium and filled the halls, and a dance folowed in the gymnasium, with the Kirk orchestra j donating their services for the oc- i casion. Light refreshments wer? i served as the contribution of Milford business houses. j On next Wednesday evening, I August 9, at 8 o'clock, the community will furnish the talent for a program ; to be given in the mess hall at Wah I Wah springs and consisting of the following numbers: Selection, Milford band (leading ! visitors into camp), j Selection, Milford band (in mess hall.) ! Vocal duet, Reverend and Mrs. i Joyce B. Webster. Reading, Mrs. Lamar Outzen. Saxophone solo, Roy Rogers. Vocal Solo, Mrs. Gene Pitchforth. Instrumental trio, Dr. C. R. Parrish and Misses Ruth and Sarah Pool. Reading, Beth Coleman. Vocal solo, Vernice Smith. Selection, Milford band. Mens quartet, Messrs Casterline.. Cottrell, Martiin and Webster. Novelty act by the 4 Black Crows.. (Helen Clark, Stella Hollis, and the Kirk sisters.) Vocal solo, Ethel Hearn. Organ solo, Mrs. Myrte Tribote. Selection, Milford band. Parties on the program who do not have transportation will arrange to be at the Methodist church promptly at 6:30 p. m., where transportation trans-portation will be provided. Any Milford people who plan on attending the program at the camp and who can make room for one or more passengers, please advise Mrs. Cochrane or Mrs. Baxter and arrange to be at the church at 6:30 p. m. n |
