Show j PENNEY COMPANY SALES ! SHOW INCREASE FOR JUNE j Sales of the J. C. Penney company for the month of June, 1933, were $14,617,3S8.95 as compared with $12,024,970.91 for June, 1932. This is a gain of $2,592,415.04 or 21.50 per cent, and is the third consecutive consecu-tive month to show a sales increase over last year. In April the percentage percent-age of gain over 1932 was 1.S7 per cent; in May the gain over a year ago was 14.13 per cent. Total sales for the first six months of 1933 were $71,01S,SSS.40. This compares with $09,2S0,242.21 for the first six months of 1932, or an increase in-crease of $l,73S,01i;.19. The percentage percent-age of gain for the first six months is 2.51 per cent. In view of the fact that losses were shown in sales for the first three months, the total gain for the first half year reflects strongly strong-ly the improved buying by the consuming con-suming public. |
