Show Easy Bean Dishes WE might as well admit it. We're all looking for easy nays and short cuts these warm summer days. Providing, of course, that the results are as good. Happily there are some very simple ways to prepare beans which are unusually delicious. Thus, they solve the problem of that one hot vegetable dish you wish to serve, along with your cold cuts of meat and crisp cool salads. You'll like the following: Tested Recipes Parsley Lima Beans: Heat the contents of a No. 2 can of lima beans for five minutes in their own liquor,, then drain. Add four tablespoons butter, two table-spooas table-spooas lemon juice and two table spoons minced parsley. Toss until well mixed and the butter is melted. This serves six persons. Stringless Beans HoUandaise : Heat the contents of one No. 2 can of stringless beans, then drain, saving the liquor for soups. To one cup of hot white sauce add one-fourth cup of mayonnaise and two tablespoons lemon juice. Stir until smooth. Pour over the hot beans and serve at once. This serves six persons. Buttered Beans: Heat the contents con-tents of one small caa of stringless string-less beans in their liquor for about five minutes. Add salt anil pepper to taste and one and one-half one-half tablespoons butter. This serre3 four persons. |
