BUSY PLANNING i FOR ANNUAL CONTESTS The 23d Annual Invitational track and field meet and Relay carnival will be held at Brigham Young university on April 21 and 22, states Fred "Buck" Dixon, managing director. Thousands of athletes of both sexes from scores of intermountain colleges colleg-es and high schools participate each year in this event. Track meets for girls from junior nnd senior hif-h schools will hp run off on Friday, April 21. Junior high school girls will compete in their posture pos-ture parade the same day. All events for boys are scheduled for the following follow-ing day. Junior and senior high school, junior college and Rocky Mountain conference freshman athletes ath-letes will vie for honors. The Invitational Invita-tional meet is usually made the official offic-ial meet for the junior colleges of the region. The posture parade on Saturday for senior high school girls is one of the great spectacles of the whole affair. Versatile male athletes will also compete on Saturday for the gold watch given to the winner of the all-around championship, another colorful col-orful event. Medals and other awards are offered for excellence in the numerous num-erous competitions. Entertainments ; are being arranged for the athletes and other visitors. |
