Show JOE SKINNER DIES AT HOME IN BEAVER Joseph Franklin Skinner, 61, died at the family home in Beaver Sunday of heart trouble and asthma. Mr. Skinner was born May 1, 1870, at Beaver, a son of James Orrice and Ellen Cartwright Skinner. He had 1 been a life-long resident of Beaver, where he had been active in civic af- fairs. He was the first Beaver volunteer to the Spanish-American war. When a young man he assisted his father in the furniture and sheep business in 1 Beaver,. In later years he was prominent prom-inent in mining circles throughout 1 Beaver county. He was one of the founders of the Beaver County Fish and Game club, in which he had been an active worker. For many years he was active in the I. O. O. F. lodge. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lilly D. Owen Skinner, and a son and two daughters, Mrs. Doris Edwards, Ruth, Nev.; Owen and Virginia Skinner, Skin-ner, Beaver; six brothers and sisters, George B. and Henry Skinner and Laura Cox, Beaver; Orrice Skinner and Mrs. Retta Tolton, Provo; Ezra Skinner, Salt Lake. |
