Show r HELPER Spencer Farrimond, 50, mine foreman at the Maple Creek Coal mine in Spring Canyon and Ray Walker, 23, workman, were injured Tuesday afternoon when they were imprisoned under tons of dirt while excavating in a dugout at the mine entrance. Farrimond suffered a fractured frac-tured spine, dislocated shoulder and bruises. Walker received body bruises, bruis-es, laceratins and back injury. They were brought to a local hospital for treatment. The men were excavating for a mine supply building when the roof caved in. They were extricated immediately by co-workers. Farrimond Farri-mond is a well-known county mining man. He is married with a family residing re-siding at Heiner. Times. |
