Show TALKIES TO MAKE I. DEBUT SUNDAY; ! STEADY RUN STARTS WITH FANNIE BRICE IN "MY MAN" Mechanism for 'Talkies' was installed in-stalled at the Orpheum theatre this week, and the first talkie, Fannie Brice, in "My Man" will be shown Sunday. Messrs. McDermond and Thomburg, accompanied by Mrs. McDermond, Mc-Dermond, came down from Salt Lake Sunday to supervise the renovating of the theatre. The showhouse was closed down Monday and Tuesday, and a corps of men worked day and night to complete the job. The theatre thea-tre opened again Wednesday for the usual picture show. Mr. McDermond is authority for the statement that the Orpheum theatre here is the smallest theatre in the smallest town in the country to be wired for talkies. With the completion of the remodeling, remod-eling, a regular run of Vitaphone pictures will be shown here. Pictures from the following studios are under un-der contract to be shown here: Paramount, Para-mount, Metro-Goldwyn, Fox, Warner Brothers, First National, United Artists, Art-ists, and others. Mr. McDermond affirms that the Orpheum theatre will show the best pictures made or nothing. The interior appearance of the theatre has been greatly beautified by the work done within the theatre this week. |
