Show LEE C. BROWN WINS MAYORALTY IN IOWA Lee C. Brown, former editor of the Milford News, was recently elected mayor of the town of Milton, Iowa, where he is now editor and publisher of the Milton Herald. Mr. Brown defeated his opponent, who was a candidate for re-election, by a vote of 161 to 145. The Herald says: "It was a horse race for mayor with the judges steadily calling off and even vote between Morris and Brown, until the last 30 or 40 ballots, when Brown was given his final majority ma-jority of 16. Lee is one of those few fortunate newspaper men, who after annexing a fine Utah girl as a bride, returned to his former haunts in Iowa, established estab-lished a successful newspaper business, busi-ness, became the father of a fine baby son, and climaxed his good fortune by walking off with the mayoralty race in his home town. |
