Show LECTURES HERE ON SOUTHWEST TRIBES Frank S. Beckwith, Sr., who is the I publisher of the Millard County Progress Pro-gress at Delta, and who by avocation is an archaeologist and student of ! Indian history and legend, gave an j interesting lecture in Millford Tuesday Tues-day evening on a four thousand mile auto trip through the southwest j states, which he made early this sum-I sum-I mer. His talk was accompanied by ; lantern slides. The views of the southwest scenery and the inhabitants of that section of the country, were beautiful. Mr. Beckwith secured some of the photos at great pains and colored his slides in painstaking manner. His talk dealt with the Indian tribes of Arizona Ari-zona and New Mexico, namely, the Navajo, Zuni and Hopi tribes. Following the lecture, Mr. Beckwith entertained his audience with tales of Indian legends. The evening was one of the most unique and satisfying that Milford people have enjoyed for a long time. An audience of about sixty persons was present The lecture was given at the Masonic Hall. o |
