WEED FIRE-MENACES VACANT RESIDENCE Milford volunteer fire department ; was called out Saturday evening at five o'clock to extinguish a trash fire that threatened the vacant dwelling on the corner of Lewis and Sixth avenue. av-enue. ' Roy White noticed that the trash in fne. rear of the vacant house was burning and attempted to extinguish it. As the fire was spreading rapidly in the weeds he called to Mrs. Charles Beard who lives in the neighborhood to turn in the alarm. George Smith came to his assistance and the two men had the fire under control when the truck arrived. Cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.
