Show o CHRISTIAN SCIENCE. "Sacrament" is the subject of the Lesson-Sermon Sunday July 13, in all churches of Christ Scientist, branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ Scientist, in Boston Mass. The citations which comprise the Lesson-Sermon include the following from the Bible: "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion commun-ion ofthe body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread." (I Cor: 10: 16, 17). The Lesson-Sermon also includes the following correlative passage from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scripture," by Mary Baker Eddy: 'Are all who eat bread and drink wine in memory of Jesus willing truly to drink his cup, take his cross, and leave all for the Christ-principle? Then why ascribe this inspiration to a dead rite, instead of showing, by casting out error and making the body 'holy, acceptable unto God,' that truth come to the understanding." (P. 33). |
