Show 'BEAVER CO. SCHOOLS' TO RUN FULL EIGHT MONTHS; CLOSE MAY 6 Beaver county schools will complete com-plete its full eight-months term this year, closing on May 6. This decision was reached by the Board of Education in session in Beaver last Thursday evening. Owing Ow-ing to financial condition of the district, dis-trict, the completion of the eight months term was made possible by the splendid cooperation of the teachers teach-ers in the district who agreed to accept ac-cept notes from the Board of Education Educa-tion for any amount that the district was unable to pay in cash during the remainder of the term. The question of a bond issue to finance fin-ance the district for the remander of the term and for re-opening of the school next fall was not favored by the board owing to the condition of the bond market at the present time. While the Beaver county district is rated high in its financial standing, bonds, if voted by the taxpayers, would not bring par on the present market, it is claimed by the board. The action of the teachers association assoc-iation in accepting notes for any unpaid un-paid balance due them at the close of; the term, makes it possible to complete the school year, and it is believed that conditions in the money market will improve to an extent that satisfactory arrangements maybe may-be made later in the year for the reopening re-opening of the fall term. |
