Show Full County Ticket Nominated By Republicans At Convention The Republican County convention conven-tion held in Minersville Saturday was called to order by County Chairman Frank D. Williams. Horace Beck of Salt Lake City delivered de-livered an address and keynote speech, ami called especial attention to the Republican candidate for Governor, Gov-ernor, William Seegmiller, pointing out his previous independence of attitude atti-tude and fairness towards the farmers farm-ers and sheepmen and cattlemen and mining interests. Committee were appointed and recess taken. When the convention resumed, the committees reported, all of which were adopted as presented. present-ed. Nominations were then in order for County Attorney, and Dennis White nominated Geoige C. Miller; George Jefferson nominated Harold Cline, which nomination Was ' seconded second-ed by Cy Davis of Beaver. The first ballot resulted in a tie of. 11 to 11; George C. Miller received" 6 votes from Beaver, 1 from Adamsville and 4 from Minersville; Harold Cline received re-ceived 3 from Beaver, 1 from Greenville Green-ville and 7 from Milford. It was then proposed by George C. Murdoek of Beaver that a coin be flipped to decide, de-cide, which was rejected. The second ballot resulted in some changes in the voting and Harold Cline was nominated, receiving 13 2 3 votes and George C. Miller S 1,3. The noting not-ing was as follows: Adamsville, 1 for Miller. Beaver, 4 23 for Cline; 4 13 for Miller. Greenville, 1 for Miller. Milford, 7 for Cline. Minersville, 2 for Cline; 2 for Mil-,ler. Mil-,ler. .Nominations for 2 year commissioner commis-sioner then being in order, George P-Low P-Low was nominated and placed on the ticket by acclamation. L. G. Clay was then nominated for 4 year commissioner by Harold Cline and was placed on the ticket by . acclamation. ac-clamation. George C. Murdoek was nominated as the Republican candidate for member of the legislature.. Mr. Murdoek Mur-doek in open convention stated that if his nomination would result in any detriment to the Republican party he would decline to run. He was placed on ticket by acclamation. Frank D. Williams was nominated as County Chairman by Chas. Jamison, Jami-son, of Minersville; George Jefferson was nominated by Chase Murdoek, of Beaver. Jefferson was elected county coun-ty chairman on a vote. Mrs. Margaret Murdoek was placed plac-ed in office as county chairwoman by an exceedingly close vote, Martha Hurst was her opponent. |
