Show CIVIC ASSOCIATION OF SOUTHERN UTAH The newly organized association of civic and service clubs of the southern counties of Utah recently formed at Richfield, held thir second meeting at Cedar City last Saturday. Beaver county was represented by Geo. Jefferson, of Milford, who is vice president of the association. The name of the new association as adopted at the meeting in Cedar, is the "Civic Association of South-am South-am Utah," and its object, according to the constitution and by-laws of the organization, is to foster, encourage en-courage and promote by every hon-Drable hon-Drable means the growth and devel-Dpment devel-Dpment of the communitites of Southern Utah, their actual and potential po-tential industries and resources: to carry on an educational campaign throughout the united States designed de-signed to publicize the scenic and commercial resources of southern Utah; and to systematically exploit the exportable products of this part 3f the state. ' - After adopting a constitution and by-laws for the association, consid-3rable consid-3rable discussion followed as the means of financing the project. It as finally determined to sell memberships mem-berships over the various counties included in the association, at a rate jf S2.00 per year. This money will be used for the employment of a field secretary and other incidental expenses incurred in carrying out the development plans of the association.' assoc-iation.' ' The next meeting of the executive board will be held at Price, Utah, on Nov. Sth, at which time plans will be perfected' for work along lines that will prove advantageous to the southern Utah counties. . |
