Show GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION IS HELD HONORING BEAVERITES Approximately seventy relatives gathered to honor Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Fred-erick T. Gunn of Beaver when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary an-niversary with a turkey dinner in the high school building at Beaver Friday. The guests were entertained with readings, musical selections and sketches sket-ches of the lives of the pioneer couple. Frederick T. Gunn, who is 74 years old was born February 6, 1856, at Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Thomas and Ann H. Gunn. He crossed the plains with his parents in 18G0, with Captain John Smith's company. Mrs. Gunn, who was before her marriage Miss Sarah Ann Green-halgh, Green-halgh, was born September 30, 1863, at. Tottington, Lancashire, England She came to Utah when 5 years of age and settled in Beaver county. The couple were married November 25, 1880, in the St. George temple. They have nine children Thomas W. Gunn, Beaver; Horace Gunn, Richfield; Rich-field; Mrs. Ada Bateman, Salt Lake City; Frank Gunn, Elsinore; John Gunn, Baver; Mrs. Grace Larsen, Elsinore; Mrs. Mabel McShane, Beaver; Beav-er; Mrs. Henrietta Murdock, Glendale, Cal., and Stanley Gunn, who is teaching teach-ing the seminary at Roosevelt, Utah. ' Mr. Gunn has been a prominent sheep owner of this county. He served serv-ed as president of the State bank for several years. At the present time he is one of the bank's directors, and justice of the peace. He has served a two-year mission for the L. D. S. church in the central states, and was bishop of the Adams-ville Adams-ville ward, where they formerly resided, re-sided, for twenty years. |
