IX S. church has started the ball rolling in plans for a big celebration celebra-tion in Milford in observance of Pioneer Pion-eer Day, July 24th. Following services last Sunday at the church, those of the congregation who were interested in the promotion of a celebration were asked to remain. A large crowd stayed and work was started immediately. Committees were arranged, with Dave Tanner in charge of the general plans. The event was mentioned at the Lions Club meeting this week. The club was in favor of a good day being made of Pioneer Day here. Members did not feel that the arrangements should be made a. club affair, and felt that it would he well taken care of by the church having full charge, but offered the club's assistance in any way that will help to make the day a success. It is hoped and confidently expected to make this the biggest 24th ever observed in Milford. There will be a base ball game, probably with Richfield, and a big dance at night. Admission will be charged for these, but it is hoped to make everything else as free as possible. Horses will be brought over from Minersville for n few rnpps A flnnt nnvnile fnr prizes will get its share of attention. Races and sports for the children will be on the program. |
