Show SQUELCH BLAZE IN HUBBELL'S STORE SMALL FIRE IS PUT OUT JUST IN TIME .iPhe call of the fire siren last Saturday Sat-urday morning sent the fire department depart-ment to the Hubbell Drug store where a blaze had broken out in the lau.ndry room to the rear. The fire was put out with little difficulty and with small loss to the proprietor. Several blankets were destroyed by the blaze. Had the fire not been noticed for a few minutes, or had the arrival of the department been delayed a little, it is likely that the store would have gone up in flames, for the fire, though small, was roaring away when discovered. It was caused by starting a fire in the laundry stove and leaving it unattended un-attended to. Emil Sanders was doing some calsomining in the rear room and built a fire in the stove for use in connection with his work. |
