Prevailing illness is given as the reason the President announces, but on the latter date they hope to meet as usual. Miss Beniti James arrived from Black Rock on Monda to spend two weeks with Mrs. Addison Bybee. Leroy Luken has "sold his ranch to 3eorge Bradshaw and plans to leave at once for Chicago to join his wife who went east several weeks ago. Mr, Ralph Ellingsworth went to S-'a!t Lake on Monday to consult Dr. L. W. Snow. The eye, ear, nose and throat specialist. In the passing of Madam Alameda Bybee the Social Hour club and community com-munity club mourn the loss of their senior member, one who seldom missed miss-ed a gathering at the club house. Always Al-ways cheerful and filled with interest for those about her, we shall miss her there sorely as well as in the community life at large. Our sin-cerest sin-cerest sympathy is extended to her family. Miss Katherine Skeele of Monrovia Calif., and Mr. Delmar Bybee of Fort Benton, Montana, arrived on Wednesday Wed-nesday to attend the funeral of Dr. Addison Bybee. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clothier and family of Iron Springs spent Thanks- giving here at the Mary Clothier home. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Albrecht and children Elaine and Sheldon are visiting vis-iting relatives in Wayne Co. Miss Lola Roberts who is teaching school at Copperton was here over the week-end with her mother, Mrs. Lillie Roberts. Miss Melba Jameson of St. George spent Thanksgiving here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Jameson. Jame-son. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Nicholes and sons Gordon and Roland of Antimony were week-end guests at the Thomas Mathews home. Ruby and Eugene Hardy of Cedar City spent the Thanksgiving holidays here. Miss Ida Jolly was a week-end visitor vis-itor in Washington county. Mr. and Mrs. 0. L. Pearson and daughter visited in northern Utah over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Graff and children Helen and Carol Jean visited relatives in Washington county last week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Griffiths and daughter Beverly of Lark were in town during the week-end. Miss Hanna Pryor of Cedar City was here for the Thanksgiving holidays. holi-days. The Misses Arlinda Price and Lillian Lil-lian Carter entertained at a party Saturday night the time was spent in playing "Monte Carle" whist. The high score prizes were won by Helen Carlson and Jack Fotheringham. Consolation prizes were given to Stella Carlson and George Smith, after af-ter which a dainty luncheon was served to the following: Lois Carter, Sara Fletcher, Pauline Mathews, Helen Hel-en and Stella Carlson, Lola Roberts, Stanley McKnight, Clyde Hollingshead, Hollings-head, Hilbert and Hartley Eyre, George Smith, Jack Fotheringham, Sherman and Authnell Carter. MINERSVILLE SCHOOL NOTES Basket Ball at Minersville Mucli interest is manifested in this ever popular sport by high school students.' Squad members include LaMar Corbridge, Marshall Hollingshead, Neal Carter, Clark Dotson, Dale Dot-son, Dot-son, Clarence Rollins, James Hardy, Dan Davis, Howard Marshall, Wells Roberts, Harold Dotson, Victor Davis, Dav-is, Milton Albrecht, Reese Banks, Mitchell Stoddard and Clark Gillins. Practice games have practically been arranged with the following teams: Salina, Parowan, B. A. C. and Dixie. Science Class Studies Soap and Soap Making The project for the seventh and eighth grade general science class for for the past week has been: "a cake of soap." Each member of the class has made a cake of soap, which is on display dis-play at school. Varieties include, hard, soft, hand, laundry, colored and perfumed soaps. Much interest has been shown by class members in this project. Interesting experiences in the art of soap making have been related to the class by individual members. The Thanksgiving program given last Wednesday proved very interesting interest-ing and was received very enthusiastically enthusias-tically by the audience. The first number on the program was a reading read-ing entitled "The First Thanksgiving" Thanksgiv-ing" with "Father, We Thank Thee" as an encore number by Nona Marshall. Mar-shall. Miss Carlson showed us her singing talent by singing "Trees," and "Pale Moon." Mr. Frank Williams Wil-liams talked on "The Origin of Thanksgiving." Reva Hollingshead gave the ever welcomed piece "When the Frost is on the Punkin' " with a clever encore about purple cows. The program came to a perfect ending with a piano duet "In a Rose Garden" played by Helen Pryor and Mr. Isaacson. 1 NADA i i 1 Anton Johnson and grandson, Max j Root, Jr., of Milford made a visit at the Culmsee home last Thursday. I Herb Eyre and son Rulon of Mir.- ' ersville are bringing their cattle here for the winter. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Koy Lang was the scene of the Community Commun-ity Thanksgiving dinner Thursday. A. Stephenson made several trips to Greenville with cattl" last week. On Saturday Mrs. Stephenson accompanied accom-panied him and visited her mother in Beaver. ADAMSVILLE Mrs. Wilford Johnson and little sons are spending a few days at North Creek with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Puffer, also Mr. and Mrs. Reese Jones met with, j an accident while returning home from Manderfield Saturday night, j The lights on the Puli'er car seemed J to be in good conditions when they i left Manderfield. While on the road to Beaver the lights became out of order. Mrs. Puffer was driving very slowly while Mr. Jones and Mr. Puffer Puf-fer were trying to direct her, as to keeping on the road. In spite of this j it seems she got to one side of it and hit a white post in the curve of the load. The sudden stop of the car caused Mr. Puffer to receive a severe gash above the eye. Mrs. Puffer was bruised about the chest and face by being thrown against the steering wheel. Mr. and Mrs. Jones also received re-ceived slight injuries. It was found, necessary for Dr. McQuarrie to take several stitches in the wound above Mr. Puffer's eye. The car was damaged dam-aged considerably. John T. Joseph and wife also their son Ernest Joseph were visitors at the home of R. A. Joseph Saturday. Those from here who were working work-ing on the state hghway west of Wah Wah returned home Saturday evening. even-ing. Ruben Griffiths and family who j have been living at Minersville for the past year have moved back to their home here. Miss Nelda Littlefield and Lelia Manhard spent Friday in Milford. Mrs. W. U. Stewart received word last week that her grandson Thomas Stewart was thrown from a horse at South Milford on their ranch and slightly injured. Several young couples here attended attend-ed a party at Mandeifield Saturday night in honor of Rube Edwards. All reported having had an enjoyable time at the party. A number of families here entertained enter-tained friends and relatives from outside places with Thanksgiving dinners. Mr. and Mrs. Sy Jones of Beaver, also their mother Mrs. Mae Jones were visitors here last week. Due to the large number of men working on the state highway in this vicinity from outside towns for the past month has made Adamsville seem a larger and a more lively town. GREENVILLE Mr. and Mrs. Otto Shipp of Beaver Beav-er are spending a few days at the home of Mrs. Jess Barton. Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Williams and famijy an(' Katherine Kirk were Thanksgiving Day guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Perce Williams. Wil-liams. Alene Bonzo of Cedar City is spending a few days visiting with iriends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Blackett of Beaver, Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Thomas of North Creek and Mrs. Hazel Barton Bar-ton and family were Thanksgivin Day guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan K. Barton. Margaret Thomas of North Creek spent the week-end with her grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan K. Barton. Bar-ton. Agnes Morris spent a few days at North Creek visiting with her friend Nola Baker. Mart Barton left Sunday for Salt Lake City where he will spend a few days. Margaret Easton who had a slight stroke three weeks ago is still bed fast, but is reported as improving. Pauline Williams entertained a number of her friends at her home Friday night. The night was spent playing Cootie the first prizes were won by Katherine Kirk and Heber Murdock, the booby prizes were won by Lena Barton and Ormand Morris. At midnight refreshments were served serv-ed to the following: Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Williams, Elma Williams, Lena Barton, Katherine Kirk, Marguerite Bushman, Pauline Williams, Ormand Morris, Mart Barton, Joe Barton, Heber Murdock, Howard Walbeck, and Clark Griffiths. Everyone had an enjoyable time. A very successful party was given Tuesday night at the meeting house in charge of the activity commttee. The house was fixed like a barn and everyone present had a real jolly time. Mr. and Mrs. George Barton and family were Thanksgiving Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Barton. A very successful dance was given here Thursday night. Music was furnished by Russell Scott and Mrs. Ann Williams. A number of outside people attended. Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Kesler and family, Fern Murdock and Sam Fillmore Fill-more of Milford spent Thanksgiving Day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 0. A. Blackner. BEAVER Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ray and little lit-tle daughter Evelyn returned to their home in Provo after spending Thanksgiving with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wilden. Cullen Barton, Chase Murdock and Dale Schofield came home from the, B. Y. U. to spend Thanksgiving with home folks. Beth Low and Zola White came over from the B. A. C. where they are attending school to spend Thanksgiving with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Low and Mrs. Alice G. White. Miss Florence Woodbouse of the B. A. C, was home to spend Thanksgiving Thanks-giving and the week-end with het parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Wood-house. Wood-house. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Smith and three children, Billie, Leland and Mildred of Salt Lake City are visiting visit-ing at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith. Among those attending the funeral services of Dr. Addison Bybee in Milford Mil-ford Friday were Wesley Farrer and family, Gus Fernley, William Hurst, Joseph Manzione, James Robinson, H. A. WTiite, Mr. and Mrs. Lew Mar Price and others. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson and children accompanied by Ros. Frazier, of Salt Lake City, spent Thanksgiving with relatives in Cedar City. Garth Pearce, who is attending school in Salt Lake City, spent the Thanksgiving holidays with his mother in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dean accompanied accompan-ied by Hortense Park, took their daughter Carol to Sait Lake City last week to undergo an operation for tumor. Miss Melba Jameson, Harold Baker and party of Minersville, stopped in Beaver for luncheon Monday on their way to St. George where Miss Jameson Jame-son is a special student at Dixie College. Col-lege. Mrs. Geo. Goodwin returned home from Milford Monday where she had spent three days with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wooley, of Provo, spent Thanksgiving day with Mrs. Wooley's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gentry. Mrs. E. M. Edwards, of Greenville, was the guest of her nephew and neice, Mr. and Mrs. Biaine Blarkett, several days last week. Mr. and Mrs. O'.e Boswell returned Monday from a week's visit with relative;; re-lative;; in Nephi. Neil Boyter and Miss Bullock, of Cedar City, spent Thanksgiving day with Mr. and Mrs. H. K.
