Duiing the first twenty-five years, ore quart of milk each day is desirable to insure optimum optim-um development. After twenty-five years, one pint each day is desirable to maintain optimum health. Milk not only is our most abundant source of calcium, but it supplies this mineral in a form which is most completely com-pletely utilized by bod.v tissues. One quart of milk each day insures the growing boy or girl with adequate calcium for building strong teeth and bones, for building steady nerves; for supplying normal clothing power to the blood for keeping muscles firm and elastic for insuring normal heart action, and for keeping digestive fluids in proper condition to do their work. Milk also is a good source of phosphorus, phos-phorus, which is necessary along with calcium for bone and tooth building. Whole milk is one of our best sources of vitamin A, which is needed need-ed for growth and health at all ages. This vitamin builds up resistance against infectious diseases of the eye, lungs, air passages, skin, frontal sinus sin-us and bladder. We do not get an adequate supply of vitamin A from skimmed milk nor from milk substitutes. substi-tutes. Milk is a fair source of vitamin B. This vitamin stimulates the appetite, increases the abilty to resist disease, aids digestion by stimulating the secretions se-cretions of the digestive glands, increases in-creases mu.-rle bone, ..nd aids in- the prevention of neurites.
