Burger f'?"-'jr was a second f :: f j class gunner's g V '! mate on the wvJi rm,ti&tfj& American destroyer Jacob Jones, when she was torpedoed by a German submarine sub-marine off Lands End, England, In December, De-cember, 1917. Burger and the shipmate whose life he saved were among the few survivors picked up by a British warship after eighteen hours in tire water. He is now receiving vocational training in his home city, Troy, N. Y., and Is a mainstay in the Noble Callahan Calla-han post of the American Legion at Troy. |
