Show DELTA RANCHERS TO SUPPLY ELY WITH FRESH FARM PRODUCE M. M. Steele of Delta and W. F. Pratt of Hinckley, Utah, arrived in Ely Monday lust with the intent of making arrangements for a fleet of trucks to supply the Ely market with all kinds of farm products. Mr Steele is the originator of the Grand Central Highway, which has now become be-come a link in the National Roosevelt-Midland Trail, which starts at New York City and terminates at Fresno, Cal., and which within a few years promises to become a national na-tional thoroughfare of as much importance im-portance as the Lincoln Highway. The Delta country, which includes Hinckley, Deseret. and several other thriving communities, is fortunate this year in having an abundance of water for irrigation and therefore that section is not affected by the drought. Messrs. Steele and Pratt state that crops of all kinds are excellent ex-cellent in their section, but that they lack a market there for' them, and for that reason have determined to ship their surplus into the Ely district, dis-trict, which is a large consumer of Utah and Idaho farm products. The trucks will leave Delta at five' o'clock in the evening and arrive ar-rive at Ely on the following morning making the drive entirely thru the night; hence their vegetables should arrive here in much beter condition than similar stuff shipped by express, ex-press, and taking two or three days from grower to consumer. They also expect to supply this market with dairy products, eggs, chickens, turkeys, and in fact most anything needed for the table. A considerable consider-able portion of their supplies have heretofore found a market in Ely. The plan when worked out will not only give the farmers of Delta an outlet for their surplus supplies, ' but it will alsq supply Ely with the - freshest of fresh ranch supplies. It ia not the intent of these men to peddle ped-dle throughout the Ely district, but rather to establish headquarters, so that dealers can draw supplies as needed, - Ely Record. .. . , R. L.
