Show OPEN UNDERGROUND RESERVOIR j Flood In Cripple Creek Mine Carries Workmen Off Their Feet. Colorado Spring. A dispatch from Cripple Creek tells of the striking of a sensational flow of water in the bore of the Roosevelt deep drainage tunnel. The flow followed a round of shots and was sj heavy that the workmen were carried off their feet down the bore and narrowly escsped being drowned. Water Is now leaving the portal at the rate of 24.-000 24.-000 gallons a minute, or about four times the- usual flow. It Is supposed that an underground reservoir or stream has been opened and that a material lowering of the water level In the mines of the district will be noticeable later. |
