Not all of the so-called "dry fanning fann-ing land" of the -west la capable of profitable operation. It Is a form of crime to urge a man Ignorant of conditions or requirements to settle In a country where there Is Insufficient Insuffi-cient moisture to produce a profitable crop. Three elements must be considered: con-sidered: Precipitation, evaporation, and soli. A slight rainfall may be Utilized to produce profit bearing crop returns, provided there Is a low percentage per-centage of evaporation or a moisture retaining soil (under scientific treatment), treat-ment), or both. Dry farming is good farming In many parts of the world, but It Is not "Iizy Farming." It requires tha Utilization of a formula which has always al-ways brought good results: Slg.t Good soil, one part. Good sense, one part. Willingness to learn, one part. Willingness to work, one part. Some moisture properly conserved by methodical work. Mix well before expecting results-then results-then continue to use.
