Show Lightening struck the Delta Go's private phone line near Woodrow during Tuesday's storm and shattered a number of poles and burned ont several phones on the line. The damage dam-age is being repaired today and the line has recently been extended ex-tended to near Sugarville. Miss. Millie Workman entertained enter-tained a party of friends of her brother John and sister Lydia, the occasion being in honor of the two latters' birthday. The time was spent with music and games after which supper was served to about twenty guests. Miss Lulu Johnson, corres-pondant corres-pondant for the Chronicle at Holden, was over this week visiting visit-ing relatives and attending the Demonstration train meetings and viewing the exhibits. Miss Johnson states that several Holden people were present. Jones Bros., who have been doing an immense lot of plowing on the North Tract with their big Tractor, have taken the outfit out-fit to the South Tarct where they will prepare about two thousand acres of land which will be sown later to sweet clover. J. P. Kyes, who lives near Sutherland, while railing brush Wednesday had the misfortune to get in front of the rail while it was moving and it struck him on the left leg with sufficient force so that it broke it. He was brot to Delta that evening where he was given medical attention. Quintet for a concert to he given I in the Academy Auditorium Monflay evening, April 21. rl his Quintet has won fame and renown re-nown where ever they have gone and we are sure th-'.t they will give us a very unusual treat in that line. The biggest dance of the season, sea-son, the "M" dance will be held in the Academy Gym. Friday evening, April, 21. The hall will be effectively decorated in the school colors, maroon and white and school pennants. Dainty refreshments will be served. The Student Body will present rewards to men who have won honors for the school during the year. If the success of the dance depends upon the enthusiasm of the students, its success is certain. If you wish to see how the Student Body conducts a successful party and if you wish to have the time of your life, come! Thursday and Friday morning several truck loads of loyal students stu-dents went to Fillmore to root for their baseball team and track men in the events of the Track Meet held Friday at that place. The people of Fillmore were very kind in their treatment of the Academy students. They report having hav-ing had the time of their lives. The score of the meet was GO to 65 in favor of the Millard Academy. Lackyard. m20tf The Delta Go's B canal on the North Tract is reported to be now drawing 253 second feet of water and will soon be filled to over 800 second feet. Engineer Elmer Porter, who will have charge of the water distribution of the lower Sevier River river, and wife came in from Salt Lake last night and have taken up their residence in the Leutheauser residence. L. A. Wilcox, who purchased land near Sugarville, came in the first of the week with a car of emigrant goods from California Califor-nia and has taken up his residence resi-dence on his land. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards and son, of the Grand Junction, Colo., country are here for thesummet visiting Mrs. Flora Davis and family of the Sutnerland district. Mrs. Edwards stopped olf here with the Davis family last fall when they came up from California, Cali-fornia, They may decide t( locate permanently. The Sevier Bridge dam' reservoir reser-voir is now filled to the til-foot contour line and the water which has been allowed to run to waste for some time back will soon be held to bring it up to the 70-foot line. Wilkins, went to Salt Lake Wednesday where she will , remain during the summer with her sister, Mrs. R. C. Graham. Delta is after a sugar factory. Lanham, who is located lo-cated on the South Tract but who has been visiting his parents ; at Parsons, Kansas, has return-1 return-1 ed and taken up his residence on his farm. Atty. J. Alex Melville was . over at Fillmore recently foreclosing fore-closing a mortgage for the State Bank of Millard Co., covering-some covering-some property on the Eeaver Bottoms and at Milford. Bishop Maxfield was -down from the Sevier Bridge dam last Sunday. On his return he was accompanied by Mrs. Maxfield, j who will visit with him a short time. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schlappy of Washington county arrived here latt Sunday and will spend the summer here. Mrs. Schlappy and Mrs. James Wilkins are sisters. James Christensen was up Wednesday attending the big Demonstration train meeting. Mr. Christensen reports considerable consid-erable damage done the fruit around Oasis by the late frosts, Mr. and Mrs. Will Cook have moved to Edgar Jeffery's place on the South Tract and H. E. Reasoner has moved into the house formerly occupied by them just east of the Golden Rule store. " M. A. Hutchings haa errected a building on 1st West just west i of George Day's store and will occupy it with a blacksmith shop. Mr. Hutchings is a good work-1 work-1 man and we predict for him I success. A Mr. Scobie of Oklahoma is expected here to take over the management of the ' Delta yard. Mr. Lambert will ' move out to Sugarville. ' D. 11, Jordan, a contractor ' and builder from Florida and a friend of Ray Junes has located ' in Delta and will follow his trade.
