Show Hinckley Happenings. All of our townspeople who went to Salt Lake for conference have returned home except Mrs. Celestial Knight, who remained at the bedside of her brother who will be operated on at a hospital. hos-pital. The Stork visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wright, April 13th leaving a fine baby girl- The students and faculty of the M. A. are rejoicing over the victories they won at the tract meet at Fillmore. All report a good time. Wm. Walker was called to Oak City this morning to the bedside of his father, Simeon Walker, who is reported very ill. There is considerable excitement excite-ment over the mining prospect out in the west mountains. Among those interested are A. Stout, W.F. Pratt and C. C. Draper. The Home Economies Association Associa-tion is actively engaged in the clean town campaign. Our slogan slo-gan is "make Hinckley the cleanest clean-est town on the map." Early in the spring when the first flies appeared, the civics committee began to pay for all flies destroyed destroy-ed and in this way hope to help control the fly nusiance for the summer. The social given recently re-cently by the club for the members mem-bers and their husbands awakened awak-ened considerable enthusiasm and civic pride. Mr. Welch gave a fine talk on clean milk and much discussion followed. The men folk present resolved to make a greater effort to provide better and more sanitary housing hous-ing facilities for their stock. On May 1st there will be a May Day excursion. At 10, a. m., the citizetTs will assemble at the school ground and from there will proceed to visit the premises of all the people of the town and cash prizes will be awarded to |
