Show HAD NT TOLD ANY UNTRUTH Colored Witness Simply Stated a Fact, Though It Was Not the Information Informa-tion Desired. In St. Louis a stout colored woman, apparently about forty years old, was called as a witness In an assault case before a police Judge. 8be said: "I am eighty-four and I live down near the river, and this Is what I saw when the fight took place." She then gave her account of the assault. On cross-examination the attorney for the defense asked her when and where she was born, and (he replied: "Right here in St. Louis, In July, 72."
