Show CANNING FACTORY. The canning factory at Fillmore Is up but only a few case- of fruit have S'l far been put up. The manager is having some trouble In getting the sealer to work. The factory nas a capacity ca-pacity of between 2.".,00'l and .Io.cmhi tiiit per day. While there la plenty of fruit this year It I rather small. Plums are numerous and the factory will put up about 10,000 can. Tomatoes Toma-toes are rather late but there will be some to can. The factory Is paying 70 cents per bushel for pears, ."0 tenia for peaches, 25 cent for plums and $10 per ton for tomatoes, which is the universal uni-versal price In Utah. It will probably take one season for the factory to get to running smoothly, but when it is fairly In operation It will be a g-id thing for the fruit raiser of the east side, as It will provide a borne market for all their fruit. |
