The County Republican convention was held at Fillmore last Saiurday. ril of the precincts In the county were represented, forty three delegate being present. M. A. Abbott was chosen as chairman, and George A. Cole a secretary. After the usual routine buinea the following platform plat-form wa adopied by the convention: We, the Republicans of Millard County, in convention assembled, proud of our party'a aehieventa, local and national, present the following for the consideration of our fellow citizens: We affirm our nlleglence to the principles prin-ciples of the grand old Republican party as expressed In the national Republican Re-publican platform of 1012. We endorse en-dorse the Republican iidmlniat ration of our state and the Republican state plutform of l!12. We endorse the efficient ef-ficient and business-like administration of our comity affairs by the present Republican officials, and pledge a continuation of these same policies by the nominees of this convention. We recognise and appreciate the valuable service of our Indian Wnr veterans In defending the homes of the early settlers set-tlers of our state and pledge our re-resentatlve re-resentatlve to the state legislature to use every reasonable effort In ntr behalf to the end that they shall receive re-ceive compensation for their heretic (Torts and sacrifice. We favor some mean of exterminating exterminat-ing rabbits ond ground squirrel at public expense. The nomination of candidates was then taken up. For representative to the state legislature A. A. Hinckley ar.d Virgil Kelly were nominated. The first ballot wa a tie, each candidate receiving twenty-one voles. On the second ballot A. A. Hinckley won by a vole of 22 to 10. The candidates for long term com-nitraloner com-nitraloner were R. K. Robinson. av Anderson. K. C. Robbin and M. A. Abbot. Ab-bot. The llrst ballot gave Robinson 14, Anderson 13, Robbin l' and Abbot Ab-bot t!. The low nun was eliminated and on the third ballot Robinson re ceived 2'i votes, securing the nomination. nomi-nation. The candidates for short term commissioner com-missioner were Anderson, Kohhin ami Alder t. Anderson received 2i Votes on the s-cond ballot and became the nominee. The candidates for county clerk were Richard Aahby, Carl Day and Christian Anderson. Richard Aahby won out on the first balot by a vote of 31. Ruby Cillister, Kay an I Jennie Ahby ran a close race for county recorder. re-corder. Mrs. Aahby being the winner bv a vote of 22 to l'. For county attorney George A.
