Show Section Boss at Neels was Shot. Last Friday afternoon at Neels, the first station below Clear Lake, tne Japanese section boss, Ki-hara Ki-hara by name, was shot and died a few hours afterwards while being be-ing taken to the hospital at Mil-ford. Mil-ford. Before dying he made a statement to the effect that two of the Mexicans working under him had shot him with his own gun while fighting. The Mexicans Mexi-cans on the other hand claim that during the mix-up that the boss had accidently shot himself. They further state that he had been bull-dozing them and threatening threat-ening to shot them on several previous occasions. After Kiha-ra Kiha-ra was shot the Mexicans fled to the sage brush and kept in hiding hid-ing till hunger and thirst brought them into Oasis, and parties there notified Constable Abraham Abra-ham Workman to that end and he in company with Lorin Taylor Tay-lor and Chas. Clawson overtook them east of Oasis and lodged them in the city jail here late Saturday evening. The Mexicans maintain the'r innocence but it looks almost certain that they, or one of them, shot the Jap. They were taken to the county jail Monday.. |
